Spring Retreat 2020

Registration for our 2020 C3 Student Ministry Spring Retreat is open! C3SM Spring Retreat Registration

Retreat Overview

We are praying for this retreat weekend to be an impactful experience where our students will take their first or next step in following Jesus and create deeper relationships with their small groups and adult leaders.

Our desire for weekend retreats like this is that they would serve as spiritual and relational catalysts for our students. With multiple teaching sessions, small group times, and devotionals, every student will be saturated in scripture and rich teaching. We believe that the Holy Spirit works through faithful teaching of the word to convict hearts and bring about faith and repentance.

Students will spend the entire weekend together bonding, eating, playing games, and having spiritual conversations. Students will spend the same amount of time they’d get in 6 months of youth group crammed into one weekend. We are praying for Christ-centered bonds to grow through the time together.

Details:

Format: This retreat is a DNOW (Discipleship-Now) style weekend. This means that we will be staying here in Houston and all of our students will be staying at host homes from C3 and then we’ll gather together for worship, teaching, and other activities.

Speaker: Our retreat speaker this year will be Blake Chilton, lead pastor of Declaration Church in Bryan, TX. Blake served as the Student Pastor of The Village Church in Flower Mound for 9 years before planting a church.

Date: 2/14-16. The retreat starts on Friday night and will end Sunday morning after we attend the 9:30 service together.

Cost: $80. Even though this is an in-town retreat, we have significant expenses for food, t-shirts, fun activities, and bringing in an outside teaching/worship leader.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my son/daughter invite friends?

Yes! We would love for students to invite friends, especially those who don’t know Jesus.

Whose houses will the kids be staying at?

Our group will be split into their Sunday night small groups, which are broken down by age and gender. Each small group will be staying at a C3 family’s home for the weekend.

Students will need an air mattress and sleeping bag since they will most likely be on the floor or a couch.

Who will be the leaders during the weekend?

Most of the leaders for the retreat are our regular youth group volunteers. We do have a few additional leaders who will be serving with us! These retreats often serve as onboarding opportunities for us to recruit potential new leaders. All volunteers have been background checked and have done a training on child safety.

My student has a commitment during the weekend. Can we pick them up during the retreat and drop them back off?

Our strong preference is that students participate in the retreat from start to finish, but we also want to accommodate so that all students can join us. A good question to ask is, “If this retreat was out of town, would my student be able to skip this commitment to go on the retreat?” If so, then we’d ask you to let your student commit to the entire weekend.

Are scholarships available?

Scholarships are available, but limited. Please register and at the time to pay you can request a scholarship.
